Ernest Hemingway donated his former home of two decades to "the people of Cuba" after moving away, and it remains largely undisturbed since the 1960s. Although one cannot technically come into the house, there are plenty of spots to peek in through the windows, as well as explore the premises containing a tiny cemetery of Hemingway's pet dogs and his fabled boat Pilar, docked in what once was a tennis court.

Few landmarks in Groningen are as emblematic as Martini Tower, or 'the old grey one' as the locals call it, which proudly signals its presence from afar, guiding visitors to both the church and the main market square 'Grote Markt.' The current structure was built in the 15th century and stretches almost 100 metres into the skyline, offering panoramic vistas for those who climb all 260 steps.

In case there wasn't enough to do in Monastir, the next port up has plenty to offer in the way of rare archaeological finds and exciting history which can be discovered in the Sousse Archaeological Museum or the Museum Dar Essid. The city of Sousse, similar to Monastir, exhibits some important ancient structures that remain intact today. The Ribat in Sousse is a bit smaller than that of Monastir and perhaps not as impressive, but it is inexpensive to enter and visitors can climb the tower right to the top to appreciate the expansive views of the city from above. The Medina is nearby and contains the main Mosque of the city as well as a bustling souk complete with passionate traders who will test your haggling skills. Be careful of rogue traders and pickpockets in busy areas such as these and be mindful of offers made by unlicensed operators. Getting to Sousse from Monastir is very easy to do, just hop on the bus or train from the city centre and in about half an hour you'll be there.

Few things feel more quintessentially American than New England and baseball. The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox go head-to-head with teams in the towns of Bourne, Brewster, Chatham, Cotuit, Falmouth, Harwich, Hyannis, Orleans, and Wareham in the Cape Cod Baseball League. It has been a stopover for many college players on their way to the majors, including Nomar Garciaparra, who went on to play for the Boston Red Sox, Oakland Athletics, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Chicago Cubs.
