It is very important for us at Riviera Maya to take care of our surroundings, and at Akumal Monkey Sanctuary and Rescued Animals we proudly do so. This is not a zoo, this is truly a sanctuary. You'll find locals from Mayan descent volunteering here to help preserve our fauna and natural heritage. Visit this Sanctuary to really witness rescued animals and thus contribute to our efforts in their preservation!

SFER IK's dome serves as a stage for exhibitions by visual artists coming from every part of the world. Located in the nearby city Tulum and resembling a tree house, it is made of cement and tree branches. Entry is free, and an upscale boutique is available nearby.
