The Coronado Historical Association offers a deep dive into the island's rich history, with exhibits that explore Coronado’s transformation into one of California’s top destinations. Permanent galleries highlight key moments, from the early settlers and the pivotal role of the U.S. Navy to the iconic Hotel del Coronado and the Tent City summer resort. A rotating third gallery keeps things fresh with traveling exhibits that focus on Coronado’s history, art, and architecture.

Only a few kilometres away from Grand Bay, Pereybère attracts with its manifold culture and its lively bar and restaurant scene, and it is also considered by many to have the island's best beach. Established in 1986 to commemorate Coronado's centennial, Centennial Park is a charming waterfront spot offering panoramic views of the San Diego skyline. Once the docking site for ferries transporting cars and passengers before the Coronado Bridge opened in 1969, the park retains historical elements like the old ferry toll booth. Today, it’s a peaceful escape with lush lawns, colorful flower beds, and plenty of benches for relaxing or enjoying a picnic. Plus, it’s just steps from the Coronado Ferry Landing, making it an easy stop if you’re checking out the local shops and restaurants.
