Al-Bahr Mosque is the oldest mosque in Old Jaffa, built in 1675. People arriving by boat used to enter the city via Jaffa's old port. To take in the view of the city's historic centre, use the mosque as your vantage point and enjoy the panorama. Al-Bar Mosque is located right on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea.

The southernmost city of Crete and the fourth largest one in the country, Ierapetra combines the infrastructure of a tourist resort with easy access to pristine beaches and beautiful countryside. A popular tourist destination within easy reach from here is the unspoilt Chrysi Island with its golden beach.

Take a walk in the shoes of a local with one of Bilbao’s most popular hikes. Pagasarri, at 673 m, is one of the smaller mountains surrounding the city, and most locals have tackled it at least once. Buses from the city centre take you to starting points around Zabalburu or Peñascal. At the summit, there’s a bar selling bocatas—baguette sandwiches stuffed with tortilla de patata, txistorra, or chorizo. If you’re feeling ambitious, continue on to Ganekogorta at 998 m, just a bit further along the ridge, for more sweeping views of Bilbao and the surrounding hills.

High mountains and deep valleys frame Valldemossa, the village where the island's first two 'celebrity tourists', composer Frederic Chopin and author George Sand, lived in 1838. Once here, make sure to visit the village's main attraction: The Carthusian Monastery of Valldemossa. Originally built as a royal palace in 1309 and later converted into a monastery of the Carthusian order, the Carthusian Monastery of Valldemossa is an impressive complex that houses a palace, a church, an old pharmacy, an art collection of some of the greatest modern Spanish and local artists, and the cells where the monks lived for 400 years to find peace and rest. Each cell has its own exit to the garden terrace with blossoming magnolias and a wonderful view over the valley.
