According to tradition, this church was constructed on the site of the former Gothic Parish of Saint Julian after the image of the Virgin Mary was unearthed following the city's recapture from Moorish rule. The building is a Baroque temple designed in the shape of a Latin cross, with a Neoclassical facade displaying the anagram of Our Lady of Monserrate. Inside, the Hallazgo chapel contains a cave where the image of the Virgin Mary is believed to have appeared. Above this site, the old niche is now dedicated to the Cristo de la Buena Muerte. The high altar is home to the niche containing the Virgin of Monserrate, the city's patron saint.

Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum is the final resting place of the revered Vietnamese revolutionary leader and President Ho Chi Minh. It is Hanoi's number one tourist attraction and an important historical site. It was built within two years, from 1973 to 1975, and its design draws inspiration from Moscow's Lenin Mausoleum. If you're lucky you might catch the changing of the guard outside the mausoleum.

To find refuge from tourist masses, head to this beautiful, secluded beach in the island's very south. Reaching the place will take around 30 minutes by car, and some patience if you're driving your own vehicle — signage isn't too clear. However, it's worth the exploration: locals love Baby Beach because it's calm and less crowded. Its waters are clean and good for swimming, and the local fauna is beautiful, featuring gorgeous tropical fish and sea turtles.

The Grand Mosque of Kuwait is the nation's largest place of worship, a monumental structure capable of accommodating over 10,000 worshippers. Its striking design incorporates materials from around the world, including French stained glass, Italian marble and a central gold-plated dome. The mosque offers guided tours that provide insight into both its extravagant architecture, featuring the highest minaret in Kuwait, and Islamic culture. Visitors should note that appropriate attire, including provided abayas and headscarves for women, is required.
