Away from the water’s edge, Rarotonga offers some fantastic walking tracks and attractions. Notable sites include Highland Paradise, where visitors can explore traditional Cook Islands culture and enjoy breathtaking views and Black Rock, or 'Arai Te Tonga', which is a significant spiritual site for the islanders.

Flight Connection Arlberg offers paragliding and tandem paragliding try-it-out courses. Of course, all lessons are given by nationally certified flight instructors.

Roman Docks Museum (Musée des Docks Romains) is situated on the site of a Roman docks warehouse discovered after World War II. Here you can find a range of impressive artefacts discovered during the reconstruction of the old harbour. One of its primary attractions are the "dolia" - large ceramic containers once used to store oils and wines.

A green oasis in the middle of the thick urban landscape, the beautiful island-park of Stanley Park spans 400 hectares. The park is not only the world’s largest uninterrupted waterfront path, but also a measure against flood risk. When construction on Stanley Seawall began in 1917, its design was intended as a measure of flood protection along the waterfront edge of Vancouver’s Stanley Park. The park expertly combines environmental resilience with everyday recreational use. Today, it is home to kilometers of trails, beautiful beaches and numerous landmarks. It is without a doubt one of the most beloved spots in the city for both pedestrians and cyclists.
