Kadhimiya
A visit to Baghdad often includes the Imam al-Kazim & Imam al-Jawad Shrine, and its surrounding area offers its own shopping experience. Once you go past the initial checkpoint, the area comes alive with shops, food stalls selling baklava and other Arab pastries, and even local telecom offices where you can purchase SIM cards.
Whether before or after seeing the shrine, Walk around and have some sweet treats, sip chai tea, and enjoy other local specialties. Women needing a headscarf to enter the shrine will find them readily available for purchase nearby.
