Covering over 160 hectares, the Inner and Outer Alster Lakes are located right in the city centre, surrounded by cafes, parks, and walking paths, with an abundance of oaks and chestnut trees for nature lovers. Ideal for renting a canoe, pedal boat, rowing boat, or sailboat to stay active. The area is enhanced by sculptures both on land and in the lake. Vast bodies of water are often best enjoyed during the golden hour and aboard a boat. Gather a small group of friends and book a one-hour sailboat ride at sunset.

During Roman times the Cardo was Jerusalem's main street, and it must have been quite a view: lined by columns that linked as roofed arcades above pedestrians, it was 22 meters wide and teemed with carriages and cattle. The street has been rediscovered and partially restored by archaeologists in 1975. While walking, you'll see the wall remains of the First and Second Temple, columns, and typical stone brick pavements. In the north, there is an authentic bazaar which dates back to the Crusades era.

Over a century old, the Speicherstadt is the world's largest integrated complex of warehouses. Visitors to Hamburg will discover a picturesque setting of Wilhelmine era Gothic architecture rendered in red brick, featuring unusual gables and towers. Precious commodities are stored at controlled temperatures behind the massive walls: coffee, tea, cocoa, spices, tobacco, and the world's largest collection of Oriental rugs.
