Overlooking Biscayne Bay, the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is the city’s premier destination for modern and contemporary art. Dedicated to showcasing 20th- and 21st-century international works, the museum places a strong emphasis on artists from the Americas, Africa, and the Caribbean. Built in 1740 as a nucleus for Spanish settlers, this is the smallest and oldest tri-bastion fort in the country. The green setting makes this fine little fort a good place to take a breather from Cebu City’s chaotic streets. Within the bastion is the Regional National Museum, which from Wednesday to Sunday, exhibits artifacts from the San Diego ship wreck.

At the Faust Vrančić Memorial Centre, you can get to know the life and work of Faust Vrančić, a man whom the world today mostly remembers as the inventor of Homo Volans - the flying man, but he was a lot more. Take a look at the collection of the models of his inventions, some of which are real life-size, and his more important written works. The multimedia displays also provide educational games for the youngest visitors.

This museum of modern and contemporary art features works by Goya, including his portrait of Fernando VII and Zurbarán, as well as lesser-known modern pieces. There are more than 225 pieces, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, prints, video creations, and sound art.
