The best way to cool down is by plunging into the clear, refreshing water. All the better if you don't even need to leave the city centre to do it. The area of 56 997 hectares of the Balaton Uplands National Park mainly consists of these six landscape protection areas: Kis-Balaton, Keszthely Hills, Tapolca Basin, Káli Basin, Pécsely Basin and Tihany Peninsula. Among its regions Kis-Balaton is also protected by the international Ramsar Convention, serving the protection of wetland habitats. Tihany Peninsula – as a recognition of its outstanding geological values and the work of nature conservation in that region – was awarded of European Diploma in 2003. The Natura 2000 areas, covering partly the National Park and going beyond its area ensure the possibility of the conservation of habitats, plant and animal species which are of European importance. The initiative of Bakony–Balaton Geopark – the area of which covers partly the National Park – sets the aim of interpreting the geological, natural and cultural values and awakening the consciousness of their social significance. The Bakony–Balaton Geopark became member of the European Geoparks Network and the Global Geoparks Network – assisted by UNESCO in 2012.

Completed in the middle of the 17th century, the Wazir Khan Mosque is ornately decorated with traditional architecture additions of the Mughal-era. Moreover, does the complex host several shops and is the resting place to Syed Muhammad Ishaq Gazruni, whose tomb is placed in the complex. The different creative expressions inside the mosque, will amaze you and make it hard to take your eyes of the colourful ceilings.

The Yuejiang Tower in Nanjing boasts a unique history, having achieved fame centuries before its actual construction. In 1374, the first Emperor of the Ming Dynasty envisioned a tower by the Yangtze River, naming it Yuejiang (literally meaning "overlooking the river"). He commissioned authors across the country to write articles praising the magnificent tower, even though it was not yet built. One of these articles became a classic, but the tower's construction was not started until 2000. The reputation of the Yuejiang Tower preceded its actual existence by 650 years.
