The Orihuela Archaeology Museum has its origins in the former Santo Domingo Museum of Antiquities, established in 1902 by Jesuit priest Julio Furgús, who donated numerous pieces. Created by the Orihuela Town Council, the museum has been housed in various locations, including the Palacio de Teodomiro, the Municipal Hospital, the Rubalcaba Palace, and since 1997, its current location at the Church of San Juan de Dios, which was built in the mid-18th century. The museum's collection features artefacts that span a broad range of periods, from the Paleolithic era to the early 19th century. The majority of the items were excavated or discovered in the town and its surrounding areas, often through the museum's own investigations. The same building also houses the Exhibition Hall, formerly the men's ward of the hospital. This spacious, rectangular room with barrel-vaulted ceilings hosts temporary exhibitions and various cultural events.

The story of Romeo and Juliet will always be tied to the city of Verona, and if you’re following the trail of the legend, this is part of it. The stone sarcophagus here is said to be the final resting place of Juliet. It’s set in the crypt of a former monastery—quieter than Juliet’s House, with a small museum above that gives a bit more context to the story.

Beautifully laid out and maintained botanical gardens. A refuge from Bogotá's hectic traffic, this place is always peaceful and never too crowded. Spectacular tropical greenhouses were completed in 2020 and now offer special exhibitions that feature the various climates and regions of Colombia. Stroll around the pond and try your luck spotting lizards, turtles, ducks, peacocks, and other animals. The small outdoor cafe on the premises serves great spiced coffee. Nature lovers will benefit from a guided tour — a perfect introduction to Colombia's ecosystem.

Cinemateca is a fantastic cultural place for movie lovers. The venue has three screens dedicated to showing lesser known, alternative films from Colombia, Latin America and the entire world. The tickets are super cheap and you never know what kind of masterpiece you'll get to watch. Cinemateca also hosts several film festivals every year. Don't forget to check out the gallery in the basement of the building. The modern art exhibitions are small, but always interesting.
