Located in the Kadhimiya suburb of Baghdad, the Imam al-Kazim and Imam al-Jawad Shrine is one of the most striking religious sites in the city. This important Shi’a mosque houses the tombs of the seventh and ninth Twelver Imams, making it a major pilgrimage site. Non-Muslim visitors are welcome to enter and explore the mosque; however, it's important to be respectful of religious customs and dress modestly. Due to its religious and historical significance, the shrine is heavily guarded and security is strict. You should expect to pass through three security checkpoints: one upon entering the Kadhimiya area, and two more before reaching the mosque itself. Inside, the shrine’s ornate and reflective design creates a serene and reverent atmosphere, heightened by the devotion of the pilgrims in prayer. Photography is generally permitted, but it is advisable to ask staff before taking photos, especially in more sensitive areas.

Once known as the Convent of the Good Shepherd, the Convent provided refuge for vulnerable women, children and orphans. Nowadays, the convent building and formal gardens play host to events and festivals, workshops and classes, music and theatre performances, and in summer, outdoor cinema. Located on a bend of the Yarra river, the historic site features beautiful and eerie gothic spires of the convent, lush lawns, secluded courtyards and a meticulously restored formal garden. Entry is also free and the garden is open late. Have a beer or even join a team of gardening volunteers.

The Žižkov Television Tower, standing tall in Prague's skyline, offers a unique 360° panoramic view of the city. Built between 1985 and 1992, it's an example of high-tech architecture with a touch of modern brutalism. The tower is not only a viewing platform but also houses a restaurant, bar, bistro and hotel. It's adorned with ten fibreglass sculptures by David Černý, adding a quirky charm to its structure.
