The Yarrawarra Aboriginal Cultural Centre features a first-rate Bush Tucker Cafe, an exceptional Indigenous art gallery, cultural programs, accommodation, an events centre, and a Cultural Heritage Research Unit. Special events include Aboriginal art classes, Gumbaynggirr language classes, storytelling sessions, dance performances and workshops, clay modelling, traditional basket weaving, and guided tours of Aboriginal sites. The Wadjar Regional Indigenous Art Gallery showcases the works of regional Indigenous artists, artisans, and craftspeople. It is also home to the Annual Saltwater Freshwater Indigenous Art Award. The gallery features an extensive collection of traditional and contemporary arts and crafts, as well as books, clothing, CDs, and gifts, all produced locally.

This colourful, well-maintained reserve is fascinating for children and adults, and a great option when you don't feel like going to the beach or exploring. Educational guided tours are available, and if you're gentle and follow the staff's suggestions, you may manage to get a butterfly to land on your fingers. The staff is clearly passionate about the place's mission.

Karbala's golden-domed shrine marks the resting place of Imam Husayn, Prophet Muhammad's martyred grandson, while Najaf's magnificent mosque entombs Imam Ali, the Prophet's cousin and son-in-law. The 80-kilometre pilgrimage route between the cities sees millions of faithful muslims annually retracing Imam Husayn's final journey in a procession. Walking this path represents both spiritual renewal and solidarity with Husayn's stand against oppression.
