Historic Downtown Branson consistently draws tourists year-round to see the multitudes of attractions and events it has to offer. Museums, theatres, musical productions, retail shops, and restaurants make Downtown Branson a premier entertainment district in Missouri. Walking tours of the history and spooky legends are offered daily, and free trolley rides are even given between Historic Downtown and Branson Landing. Annual events held include the Plumb Nellie Days, Fiddle Festival, Autumn Daze, Piccadilly Women’s Event, Veteran’s Day Parade, and the Adoration Parade.

Rakitnica settlemnt was mentioned in 1311 and today are still discerned the remains of the former houses and walls built in a dry-wall. A local church of St. John the Baptist, located close to the village, was built in 1445 when the parish of Rakitnica was founded. Masses are held twice a year, on the holidays of St. John the Baptist.

The area Barangay Yapak is home to the special breed of bats called the Philippine flying fox. These giant fruit bats have wings of more than 1.2 metres. The best time to visit is in the afternoon, when you can see them take flight into the stunning sunset.

Right at the base of the Alcazaba, this is Malaga’s oldest surviving structure — built in the 1st century BC during the reign of Emperor Augustus. It was in use for a few hundred years, then mostly forgotten. When the Moors arrived, they used stones from the theatre to help build the Alcazaba above it. For centuries, it was completely buried. It wasn’t rediscovered until the 1950s, when construction workers stumbled on it by accident. These days, it’s been partly restored and open to the public. You can walk around the site and even catch the occasional open-air performance in summer.
