Cinemateca is a fantastic cultural place for movie lovers. The venue has three screens dedicated to showing lesser known, alternative films from Colombia, Latin America and the entire world. The tickets are super cheap and you never know what kind of masterpiece you'll get to watch. Cinemateca also hosts several film festivals every year. Don't forget to check out the gallery in the basement of the building. The modern art exhibitions are small, but always interesting.

Lena's House Folk Museum is an authentic middle-class residence that showcases the Mykonian lifestyle in the 19th century through furnishings and objects. The museum takes its name from its last owner, Lena Skrivanou.

If beach parties are what you're after, Mykonos will not disappoint. Check out the famous Paradise Beach and/or Super Paradise Beach for some of the hottest waterfront bars and clubs that never sleep (dancing is often in full swing in broad daylight). For a more relaxed, quieter experience, head to Elia, Platis Gialos, Ornos, Panormos, Paranga, or Agios Sostis Beaches–the latter is a true hidden gem tucked away far from the frenzied crowd in the island's north.

Moored in San Pedro, the Battleship USS Iowa Museum lets you wander through one of the most magnificent and surprisingly personal pieces of U.S. naval history. Known as the “Battleship of Presidents,” the Iowa once carried FDR across the Atlantic and later served through WWII, Korea, and the Cold War. As you move through the ship’s narrow corridors and out onto the decks, you get a real sense of what life was like for the crew: giant gun turrets towering overhead, cramped bunks stacked in rows, and glimpses of the command centers that once buzzed with activity. Veteran volunteers are often on hand to share stories or point out easy-to-miss details.
