Cradle Mountain, at the northern end of the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, safeguards part of the Tasmanian World Heritage Wilderness Area. The surrounding landscape is diverse and includes grassland, rainforest and ancient plants. The park also provides a rich habitat for wildlife including Tasmanian devils, quolls, platypus, echidna and several bird species. Embark on the Dove Lake Circuit track that hugs the lake shoreline for a pleasant, relatively flat six-kilometre walk beneath the towering spires of Cradle Mountain.

Astrid Lindgren's childhood home is the farm in Näs. The old vicarage now houses a Knowledge Centre and a museum. In the extensive exhibition, 'The Whole World's Astrid Lindgren', you can follow the story of Astrid Lindgren from her childhood at Näs to becoming a world-renowned author.

Step into the world of film via a magical exhibition, created in the spirit of Astrid Lindgren. You’ll see classical film clips, original props, and sing along with movie music. While you’re there, you might like to visit its café, shop and one or other of the 12 filming locations nearby, such as Katthult and Bullerby.
