Frederiksberg is a fashionable part of Copenhagen with excellent shopping opportunities, green areas, as well as plenty of restaurants, cafés and delicacy shops. It's considered to be posher than Nørrebro and Vesterbro and people living here are usually slightly older and more established. The main street through Frederiksberg is Gammel Kongevej - ‘Old Kings Road’. Værnedamsvej, which is seen as cosy, yet cool, is a small and bustling shopping street, linking Vesterbrogade and the beginning of Frederiksberg Allé with Gammel Kongevej. Frederiksberg is also a green oasis with Frederiksberg Gardens, the romantic garden of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Søndermarken.

National Tile Museum is devoted to the quintessentially Portuguese tiles seen so frequently on buildings across the country. The collection is housed in a monastery, the varying architectural styles and decorations of which give a quick walkthrough the country's major movements. One of the highlights is an enormous tiled fresco which shows Lisbon as it was just before the big earthquake in 1755.

Regarded by some as one of the best beaches in the world, Grace Bay Beach is three miles long and features pristine-white sand together with seaweed- and pollution-free waters. If you're looking for more activities other than shoreline walks and admiring the nearby coral reefs, you can book a parasailing flight to enjoy a different viewing angle.

Budva is only about a 30-minute drive from Tivat, but it feels like a whole different vibe. The old town, with its narrow streets and ancient walls, is perfect for a leisurely wander, while the surrounding beaches are just waiting to be enjoyed. If you stick around after sunset, the town shifts into something more vibrant, with plenty of bars and restaurants buzzing well into the night.
