This reserve in close proximity to Blackpool is a perfect nature getaway from the noise and excitement of the town. The wetlands are easy to navigate, and there are walkable trails all around. The reserve is known for being a heaven for birdwatchers.

The Jardin Botanico is a botanical garden and a museum specialising in the flora from the Atlantic territories. Here you can stroll around in a beautiful park with over 2,200 species and 30,000 plants.

First built in the 17th century following the seizing of Lille by French forces, the Citadel is an impressive star-shaped fortress which now houses the French Rapid Reaction Corps. Guided tours of the Citadel are held monthly. The park area surrounding the fortress contains pleasant greenery and the Lille Zoo.
