Calton Hill offers one of Edinburgh's most accessible and spectacular viewpoints with a 360-degree panorama of the city, the Firth of Forth and Arthur's Seat. A UNESCO World Heritage site, its summit is dotted with neoclassical monuments, earning it the nickname "Edinburgh's Acropolis". Key structures include the unfinished National Monument, modelled after the Parthenon; the Nelson Monument with its time-ball telescope; and the Dugald Stewart Monument, a familiar city landmark. Importantly, the hill is also home to St Andrew's House, the headquarters of the Scottish Government, and the historic Old Royal High School. Today, the former City Observatory houses Collective, a contemporary art gallery. A short, gentle climb from Princes Street, Calton Hill is an unmissable stop for any traveller.

Alghero is known for its red coral, and here at the small Coral Museum you can watch an exhibition on the history of the old tradition where they harvest these water plants. The corals are then used for making unique jewellery, that you can find everywhere on the island.

The bay of Porto Conte is home to a natural reserve full of breathtaking vistas and natural wonders. From the limestone cliffs of Punta Giglio and Capo Caccia to countless hills, creeks and plains, the reserve is a nature lover's dream, with plenty of opportunities to hike, explore, bird watch, and much more.

Once you reach the top of this hill, a terrific view of the city opens up before your eyes. Three white crosses standing on the top symbolise Lithuanians' mourning and hope. The first crosses were erected in the 17th century in memory of the martyrs, but were removed during Stalin’s rule and then rebuilt in 1989. A journey to the top of this hill makes for a lovely hike through a peaceful and green area of the city.
