The New Museum - State Museum for Art and Design - with its curved glass facade rises over the medieval city walls in the beginning of Nuremberg's Old Town. The handsome museum has received many awards for its striking modern architecture and is a venue for contemporary art and design.

An extensive labyrinth of underground passageways and cellar vaults has existed in the bedrock of castle hill for centuries - the Historic Rock-Cut Cellars. As early as 1380 red beer was stored in the subterranean cellars, sometimes comprising four levels, that had been cut into the Burgsandstein (local Nuremberg sandstone). During the air raids of World War II many citizens found shelter in these historical vaults. Reservations and Meeting Point: Brewery Shop Tours are offered in German and English.

Perched on a hillside with panoramic views of the sea, Pegeia is most famous for its scenic village square. Here, the village's time-honoured fountains still stand — once gathering spots for women to wash clothes and collect water. Further down, Coral Bay offers one of the finest sandy stretches in the Pafos region, annually awarded a Blue Flag for its excellent water quality. For a cultural detour, visit the Agios Georgios Church. Inside, you'll discover a 6th-century basilica complex that boasts rare geometric and animal floor mosaics — a unique find in Christian art. History buffs should also make time for Maa-Paleokastro, the Bronze Age landing spot of the Mycenaean Greeks, situated on a nearby peninsula.

The Orihuela Archaeology Museum has its origins in the former Santo Domingo Museum of Antiquities, established in 1902 by Jesuit priest Julio Furgús, who donated numerous pieces. Created by the Orihuela Town Council, the museum has been housed in various locations, including the Palacio de Teodomiro, the Municipal Hospital, the Rubalcaba Palace, and since 1997, its current location at the Church of San Juan de Dios, which was built in the mid-18th century. The museum's collection features artefacts that span a broad range of periods, from the Paleolithic era to the early 19th century. The majority of the items were excavated or discovered in the town and its surrounding areas, often through the museum's own investigations. The same building also houses the Exhibition Hall, formerly the men's ward of the hospital. This spacious, rectangular room with barrel-vaulted ceilings hosts temporary exhibitions and various cultural events.
