The City Tourist Route is a 7-km-long loop which connects 42 sites – the most interesting monuments and places worthseeing. The idea behind the route was to commemorate the 750th anniversary of granting town privileges to Szczecin. The route is marked by an easily found red dotted line painted on the pavement, and thus the common name of the trail is the “Red Route”. Numbers in circles act as supplementary signs corresponding to each site on the route. Near to each number an information board with a detailed description of the object is either suspended on the wall of the building or standing alone. A pocket guidebook published in various languages, including a map of the route, can be purchased at the tourist information centres, the local seat of Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society and in bookstores. Since its origin in the Medieval times, Narodni Trg (People’s Square) has been the core of Zadar's public life. The City Guard, built in 1562, commands the western side of the square, topped by a 19th-century clock tower. Nearby, St Lawrence church is the oldest preserved building of the town, while the Loggia on the opposite side is now a venue for exhibitions.

The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is a gigantic playground for both adults and children. Focusing on natural sciences and technology, the museum features several labs in five exhibition halls – chemistry, paleontology, space, and more. You can also explore the USS Blueback Submarine and a planetarium. The Empirical Café and Theory Restaurant will provide you with refreshments if needed.

Among the many mosques in Djerba’s villages, two should not be missed. The first one is the Turkish mosque in El May. Located in the heart of the island, with whitewashed walls, this fortified mosque is simply beautiful. El May’s market is also worth a visit. In Mellita, another village near the airport, their 9th-century mosque is one of the oldest in the world.
