There is an abundance of Victorian-era architecture in Puerto Plata's historic city centre. The colorful houses have been undergoing restoration over the past decade, and can be seen in Calle Duarte, Calle Separación, Calle Beller and Calle Ariza.

City Centre Cruises offers a relaxed way to see Manchester from the water, gliding along its historic canals past former mills, red-brick warehouses and modern waterfront developments. The Pâquier is a big, free lawn located next to the lake in the centre of the town. Given to the town probably by the Count of Menton to hold the military exercises of the young soldiers, it is now a very peaceful area where it is allowed to picnic.

A'dam is the iconic and controversial tall building next to the Eye Film Institute and opposite Central Station. It calls itself "a tower of many talents": you can grab a bite, work in a coworking space, rave at the club and spend the night at the hotel here. The tower hosts some major creative labels, so the crowd is always interesting. A swing that lets you dangle your feet off the edge of the building is the cherry on top.
