Grotta Mangiapane is the biggest cave of the group Scurati's Caverns. Scurati is a little village with very ancient origins, as the numerous finds happened here can demonstrate. The cave takes its name from the family Mangiapane, who lived here for more than a century, indeed it hosts a very peculiar rural agglomeration composed of little squared houses. Totally different epochs merge together in this unique place. During Christmas period, Grotta Mangiapane hosts a big event called “Living Nativity”, an event where the agro-pastoral life comes alive with some 160 performers, including artists and craftsmen from all over Sicily.

There are a lot of activities for both children and adults at Takino Suzaran Hillside Park. In the winter, you can go sledding and tubing or skiing on a gentle slope. In the summer, the park is full of pretty flowers and children can engage physically by bouncing on rubber, rolling huge red balls up the hills, exploring mazes and spider web climbing.

A picturesque bay tucked among precipitous cliffs, Amoudi Bay is an old fishing port that can be reached from Oia. Wonderfully decorated taverns are squeezed on the seafront, and there is a great number of traditional eateries to choose from. Amoudi Bay is also blessed with a peaceful beach, far from the hustle and bustle of the holiday resorts.

Just a short 20-minute drive from Lynden lies the vibrant city of Bellingham, home to the magnificent Whatcom Falls Park. Centered around the cascading waters of Whatcom Creek, the park features a stunning series of waterfalls that give it its name. You can wander through towering ancient forests alive with activity, from joggers and dog walkers to families enjoying picnics. The park also offers recreational amenities including a playground and tennis courts.
