Each of Yarmouth's villages looks to the sea, and you will find what seems to be an endless swath of beaches, rolling waves, and ocean sunsets. However, further inland, Yarmouth unfolds into a wonderland where past meets present and enough exploration will carry you from historical attractions that date back as far as the time of to pockets of thriving modern culture.

The villages are special destinations in themselves and each has its own unique flavor. For instance, West Yarmthouth offers various family-friendly attractions as well as plenty of beach-side fun and fantastic restaurants. Yarmouth Port is rich with historical attractions, such as the nature trails at the Kelley Chapel, Captain Bangs Hallet House, and the Boardwalk at Grey’s beach. South Yarmouth is rife with oceanfront resorts, 1800s historic homes and churches, and exquisite golf courses.

One of Yarmouth's most famous beaches is located in the village of Yarmouth Port. Its amenities include a picnic area, a pavilion, bathrooms, and a parking lot. It is a smaller beach, but its major attraction is its boardwalk, which is built over a salt marsh.

Formerly a private club known as Kings Way Club, this prestigious golf club is now open to the public and provides enjoyable yet challenging courses as well as nice shaded areas to relax in. Its signature hole 5, overlooks Cape Cod Bay and the Dennis Salt Marshes. The club also offers on-site dining at The Diamond in the Rough restaurant to complete your golfing experience.

Yarmouth Dennis Soccer Club

Yarmouth Dennis Soccer Club

Fewer things are more American than New England and baseball. The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox go head-to-head with teams in the towns of Bourne, Brewster, Chatham, Cotuit, Falmouth, Harwich, Hyannis, Orleans, and Wareham in the Cape Cod Baseball League. It has been a stopover for many college players on their way to the majors, including Nomar Garciaparra, who went on to play for the Boston Red Sox, Oakland Athletics, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Chicago Cubs.

Cultural Center of Cape Cod

The Cultural Center is more than an art museum. They bring education and perspective to the community of Cape Cod through events, classes and exhibits focusing on the visual, literary and performing arts. Check their website for a schedule of classes, workshops, and musical and theatrical performances.

Windmill Park

Windmill Park

Windmill Park is home to the Judah Baker Windmill, which was actually built in Dennis in 1791 by its namesake, Judah Baker. It was moved near its current location in 1866 and used to mill grain. Windmill Park is open seasonally and also includes a small beach, which is open for swimming.

Yarmouth New Church

Yarmouth New Church

This historic church was constructed in the mid-1800s by a group of followers of a theologian named Swedenborg who were collectively known as the Yarmouth "New Church". The Yarmouth New Church Society turned over the structure to the Yarmouth New Church Preservation foundation, which works to restore and maintain its stunning beauty. It is located in the historic Yarmouth Port Common district.

Bass River Golf Course

There is no shortage of beautiful courses to suit all levels of player in Cape Cod. With four courses, Yarmouth is definitely a golfing community. Bass River dates back to 1900 and features 18 holes for players seeking a challenge.

Edward Gorey House

Edward Gorey House

Built in 1820, the former home of American author and illustrator Edward Gorey, which he purchased in 1979, has been converted into a museum to preserve and celebrate the life and works of the Cape Cod native. Gorey's works include a large number of illustrated books that have been popular with children. The museum is open from April through December annually, and guided tours of the home are available.

Putter's Paradise

Putter's Paradise

Known as the "Mini Pebble Beach," this miniature golf course is excellent for the kids. Their signature spouting white whale makes this golf course a great water playground and tons of fun for everyone. Open since 1979, it will be a hit with anyone who loves a retro-style mini golf course.
