Gustaf III Airport (SBH)
The fastest way to reach Saint Barthélemy is by air. Daily commercial and charter flights serve St Barts Airport (SBH), with helicopter transfers available on demand. The airport's 650-metre runway accommodates only small aircraft, making nearby Princess Juliana Airport (SXM) in St Martin — located just 25 kilometres away — the primary gateway. Many major airlines operate daily flights to SXM from over 30 destinations across the Americas, Europe and the Caribbean. From there, Winair and St Barth Commuter provide 10-minute shuttle flights to SBH.
Alternative routes include flights from Guadeloupe (PTP), where St Barth Commuter and Air Antilles Express offer direct 50-minute services or connections via St Maarten, timed to match international arrivals. Tradewind Aviation also serves SBH from regional hubs including San Juan (SJU), Antigua (ANU), Anguilla (AXA) and St Thomas (STT), accessible via commercial airlines or private jets.
Remember to pack light! For flights to S. Barts, the general luggage allowance is 23 kg (50 lbs) per passenger, including carry-on and personal items.
