Public Transport
You can easily get around Fukuoka by bus or the subway. Both the subway system and bus services are efficient and easy to use. To pay the fare, you will either need to purchase a reusable card at one of the ticket offices or a convenience store, or prepare exact change and drop it into the fare box next to the driver upon exiting (on buses). Individual subway tickets may be purchased from vending machines at station entries.
The Fukuoka Tourist City Pass is a good option for tourists as it entitles one to unlimited rides on buses and trains during one day.
