This beautiful building was first named a church in the 14th century and later given the status of Cathedral in 1601. It's a Gothic masterpiece, where the atmospheric darkness, the presence of an organ and countless statues create a mysterious and solemn atmosphere. Admission is free.

A nearly uninterrupted 14-kilometre stretch of sand extends from Geraki to Laganas, forming one of the last major nesting sites for the endangered loggerhead turtle. To protect the species, much of Laganas Bay is designated as a National Marine Park, where powered water sports are prohibited. Despite these conservation efforts, the resort of Laganas itself remains the island's largest and most bustling centre for nightlife, known for its concentration of pubs, bars, and clubs. For a quieter experience, a narrow wooden footbridge connects the coast near Agios Sostis Beach to the small and picturesque Cameo Island.

Set in old Dutch warehouses by the Sunda Kelapa harbour, the Maritime Museum tells the story of Indonesia’s long history with the sea. Inside are model ships, navigation tools, maps, and photos that trace the country’s seafaring past. The building itself is worth a look too — its thick walls and timber beams date back to the 17th century.
