Minorca - Essential Information
Airport
Menorca Airport is located four kilometres southwest of the capital, Mao.
During the summer, buses link the airport with Mao every half hour (€1.50 each way).
Taxis are available outside the arrivals hall and will cost in the region of €12 to Mao €50 to Ciutadella. Alternatively, you can hire a car at one of the many on-site rental offices.
Public transport
Several private bus companies cover a variety of routes on the island. Cars, motorbikes or bicycles are also suitable means of transport, with roads generally well signposted. There are cycle lanes on some of the minor roads.
Several of the more popular coves are only accessible by private roads and a small toll is charged in some instances.

Taxis are generally inexpensive, charging around €0.40 per kilometre with fixed rates for longer distances.

Tourist Traps
The supermarkets in resort centres (like Cala en Blanes) often have inflated prices. If you can, make a trip out of town to stock up on essentials.
