South of Hannover, nature and culture abound in and around the largely beech-covered slopes of the Deister reaching up to 405 metres above sea level, and it is filled with birdsong, rustling leaves, and delightful hiking tracks. Gorky Park is the city’s oldest park, at its loveliest in the summer. It is very popular with locals who often stroll along the well-tended paths. Gorky Park is a big draw to guests of all ages because of its enormous Ferris Wheel. Another reason to come here is the great view of the city.

Several times a day, the eerie legend of the Pied Piper of Hamelin plays out on the side of the municipality's wedding house. A little figurine marches ahead, followed by a herd of rats. In addition to this jolly version, a more gruesome version follows, with a figurine leading away the townschildren instead.

Chankanaab Beach Adventure Park, part of Cozumel’s National Reef Marine Park, offers a mix of natural beauty, cultural experiences, and aquatic adventures. Its clear waters are perfect for snorkeling or diving among coral reefs and sunken statues, while the sandy beach is ideal for relaxing under the shade of a palm tree.
