Lining up the eastern side of the Vågen harbour is Bergen's most famous postcard, Bryggen. A series of colourful wooden buildings, which once housed the trading offices of the Hanseatic League. Over the years, Bryggen has been ravaged by many fires, and in 1702 the entire city was reduced to ashes. Its rebuilding followed the foundations that had been there since the 12th century, which means that Bryggen was able to retain its medieval architecture. In 1979, the area was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. And today, Bryggen is home to museums, shops, restaurants, and pubs.

The Winter Gardens is an exquisite example of Victorian architecture which holds twelve different venues where events, shows and performances are frequently hosted. Check the schedule and find out if there is any event going on while you are visiting.

The Unos Torn observation deck, Designed by local architect Tommy Lyberg, offers a magnificent view over the city and Gamlebyviken. Initially, the tower stood at 15 metres, but after an additional donation in 1998, the structure grew 3 metres. Today, it stands 18 metres tall, with the viewing platform situated 34 metres above sea level.

Escape the hustle of the Golden Mile and take a stroll through this tranquil park. Motor and bumper boats are available for hire. This is the largest park in town, and when heading here do not forget to bring some nuts to feed the omnipresent squirrels.
