Named after Victor Schoelcher, a leader in the fight to free slaves in the Caribbean during the 19th century, this beautiful public library is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Fort-de-France. It was first built in Paris for the 1889 World Exposition, then taken apart and shipped to Martinique to be reassembled as it is seen today.

Dar Lasram, a grand 19th-century mansion that once belonged to the important Lasram family, now houses the offices of the Association for the Protection of the Medina of Tunis. It was among the first historic buildings restored by the association. Inside, you’ll find stately courtyards and rooms adorned with intricate tilework, alongside a small exhibition on the association’s efforts to preserve the Medina’s heritage.

The Coachella Valley National Wildlife Refuge spans over 20,000 acres of striking desert terrain and rare wildlife. Växjö cathedral is one of Småland's most visited places. The church is from the 12th century. The cathedral is located close to the shore of Lake Växjö. The imposing twin steeples can be seen over virtually the whole town. The cathedral, large and light, is full of Småland studio art glass and a wander around the building takes us through several of the bible's narratives. The triptych altar screen, sculptured by world-famous glass artist Bertil Vallien, forms the tree of life: from death to life.
