The Museum of Evolution was founded in 1999 from the former natural history museums of Uppsala University. It preserves and displays unique collections of animals, plants, fungi, lichen, minerals, dinosaur skeletons, and other fossils. The museum has been collecting the wonders of nature since the 1600s — for research, education, and admiration.

The building alone is well worth a visit. In the 16th century, the Lanfranchi family built this palace leaning against a group of medieval structures showing paintings dating to that era. In 2007 Palazzo Lanfranchi became the Graphic Museum, where you can see collections of prints and drawings from the University of Pisa taking part in educational and art events.

The Australian Seabird Rescue, Research, Rehabilitation and Coastal Education Centre in Ballina offers a comprehensive educational experience for people of all ages. Participants experience first hand the issues in their local environment. The interactive, hands on approach gives everyone an unforgettable experience that they can take home and share with others. All presentations include a one hour informative talk by one of their trained volunteers, as well as a chance to see wildlife that may be in their care. Animals that you may get the opportunity to get a close-up look at may include pelicans, other sea birds, shore birds, and even the fascinating and endangered sea turtles.

The art museum is located in the exquisite sixteenth-century Villa Saluzzo in Nervi, providing a stunning backdrop for visitors. It houses a vast collection of over 2,500 works, ranging from paintings, sculptures, drawings, and engravings, dating back from the early nineteenth century to the present day. Among the notable artists whose works are on display are Rayper, Luxoro, Cabianca, Varni, Barabino, Baroni, and many others.
