Inaugurated by Queen Victoria in 1888 and housing the Glasgow City Council since 1996, the City Chambers in George Square is one of the most iconic elements of Glasgow's cityscape. The building is open for the public to admire the marble ornaments, paintings and imposing rooms such as the banqueting hall.

You can’t really miss it—Florence’s cathedral (Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore) dominates the skyline with that massive red-brick dome. Construction began in the 13th century and continued for nearly 150 years, which is evident in the diverse styles. The outside is covered in pink, green and white marble—oddly beautiful up close. Inside, check out Vasari’s Last Judgment fresco under the dome. If you’re up for the climb (and it is quite a climb), the view from the top is worth the leg burn.

Guilin is one of the cities in China that posse the most ethnic variety, which provides the area with an extremely rich and unique customs and cultures. The folk song culture, among others, is the most well-known and representative example. The impression of Guilin is a large-scale performance that creatively combines the classical folk songs, ethnic culture and the fishing lights, reflecting a harmonious atmosphere between the people and nature here.

Visit the Tenement House and learn all about what everyday life was like in the early years of the 20th century. The house belonged to Miss Agnes Toward, whose personal belongings are still contained in the building, where gas lighting was installed to portray the original atmosphere of the home.
