At Filmbyn (Film Village), you can experience scenes from classical children’s films, e.g. Emil in Lönneberga, the Bullerby Children, and Pippi Longstocking. Step into the world of film via a magical exhibition, created in the spirit of Astrid Lindgren. You’ll see classical film clips, original props, and sing along with movie music. While you’re there, you might like to visit its café, shop and one or other of the 12 filming locations nearby, such as Katthult and Bullerby.

Psyrri is a gentrified neighbourhood known for its bohemian cafe-bars, live music taverns, artisanal boutiques, exotic spice bazaars and small number of hotels. It's one of the oldest quarters of Athens and used to be regarded as a dodgy place until the early 90s. In the late 19th century, Psyrri used to be the ‘Bronx’ of Athens. ‘Koutsavakides’, ‘hobbler dudes’ in Greek, would walk the streets in their jackets worn on one sleeve and bully locals. You'll see this archetypical character show up in street art all over the neighbourhood.

The Marienplatz is the heart of Munich and the site of the world-famous Glockenspiel. Daily, at 11am and noon, and additionally in summer at 5pm, the mechanical dancers in the tower of the New Town Hall come to life when the clock chimes. The building’s neo-Gothic facade is a favourite background for souvenir photos. Climb to the top of the 85-metre tower for a beautiful view of the city.

You can surf right in the heart of the city at Eisbachwelle. For over 40 years, this spot has been a magnet for both surfers and spectators. It's known worldwide as the most consistent, biggest, and best river wave in an urban setting. Just a heads up, though — it's really only for highly skilled pros. The waves are tricky and can be dangerous, so it's not the place for beginners. But even if you're not up for surfing, it's definitely worth stopping by to watch the experts show off their moves.
