There is a world hidden in Turin’s underground made of an extended system of tunnels built in the XVI century to resist the French siege. Tour Pietro Micca Museum to see in the same tunnels where the battle was fought. It is an inspiring trip to the past and a perfect occasion to see a one-of-a-kind military structure, but certainly it is not advisable for claustrophobics.

Separated from Laganas by a 5 km stretch of beach designated as part of the National Marine Park (and as such, free of buildings), Kalamaki is less raucous than its near neighbour and certainly more appealing to families and couples. It shares the same marvellous sands and striking views, and it is very close to the airport.

Sydney Fish Market at Pyrmont is one of the largest fish markets in the world. Business begins at 5:30am, when seafood buyers arrive to vie for the best of the day's catch — 2,700 crates of fresh seafood. Buy something for the barbecue, or enjoy lunch on the wharf overlooking the water. You can also reserve a behind the scenes tour to see all the action or join a seafood cookery class hosted by one of Australia's leading chefs.

Pinacoteca Agnelli is an art gallery that displays art from a vast private collection. You'll find Renoir's Blonde Bather and Manet's La Négresse, as well as works by Matisse, Canaletto, Tiepolo, Canova, Picasso and Modigliani. The futuristic "crystal spaceship" pavilion is an attraction in itself. The Pinacoteca is perched on top of the Lingotto complex — the headquarters of the Italian auto giant Fiat, founded by Giovanni Agnelli. It was built as a car factory in the 1920s, and was the largest and most modern plant of its kind in Europe. A winding brutalist ramp took cars to the top of the building, where they could drive the 500 m long test track. The ramp and the test track are still in top-notch condition, but the building itself now serves a different function. While its exterior remained largely unaltered, the interior was revived to house an exhibition centre, a conference centre and auditorium, two hotels, offices and shops. The iconic ‘Bubble’ — a transparent meeting room on the roof — was also added.
