This monument commemorates the lives of the 1,198 people who perished on board the Cunard Liner Lusitania on the 7th of May 1915. Sunk by a German submarine during the First World War, this memorial pays homage to the often-forgotten Irishmen who enlisted in World War One.

Located in the lively Lombok district, Molen de Ster is a historic mill commissioned by the Van der Starren family. It stands as the sole remaining structure from a series of sawmills along the Leidsche Vaart. After an extensive restoration in the 1990s, the mill houses a café, and has a small animal park nearby.
