The highest peak on the island of Madeira, Pico Ruivo can be reached only on foot, usually either from Pico do Arieiro (6 hours) or from Achada do Teixeira (2–3 hours). Listed as an "ultra-prominent peak", both trails are difficult. Be ready for steep ridges and slopes on this rewarding hike for the most experienced hikers.

Tianai Road, whose name translates as 'Sweet Love', is a 600-metre-long tribute to romance. Local tradition holds that couples who walk its length hand-in-hand will earn a blessing for their future together. The stroll is punctuated every 20 metres by a framed love poem, 28 in total, and a dedicated red mailbox awaits love letters, each stamped with a special seal bearing the word 'love'.

The Bund is Shanghai's iconic waterfront promenade, a living monument to the city's complex history. On one side, a row of grand, floodlit colonial-era buildings lines the boulevard, while across the Huangpu River, the futuristic skyscrapers of Pudong create a dazzling neon spectacle. This striking contrast between old and new is best experienced at dusk, when the lighting of both shores transforms the area into a breathtaking tableau. A stroll along the Bund offers a quintessential Shanghai experience, capturing the city's dynamic blend of tradition and modernity.

St Jean Beach stretches nearly a mile along St Barts' northern coast. It is both the island's longest and most popular beach. Its crescent shape splits naturally at the Eden Rock peninsula, creating two distinct zones. The eastern side is favoured by families and snorkellers, who take advantage of the calm waters of the eponymous bay. The western stretch attracts windsurfers, zooming around carried by the open swells. It’s also where you’ll find Nikki Beach — St Barts’ hottest party spot. St Jean is located right next to the island’s airport, where small planes fly low overhead, adding a dynamic element to the scenery without disrupting the beach’s appeal. Luxury hotels, including the iconic Eden Rock, line the shore, providing upscale amenities just steps from the sand.
