Memphis has its fair share of unique attractions, and the Peabody Ducks are definitely one of the quirkiest. Every day at 11am and 5pm, a group of ducks struts through the lobby of the historic Peabody Hotel, making their way to and from the fountain where they spend their day. It’s a full-on ceremony, complete with a red carpet and plenty of onlookers. They even live in a rooftop "Duck Palace" when they’re off duty. It’s weird, it’s fun, and it’s pure Memphis.

Mentioned in ancient sources as early as the 2nd century AD, the archaeological site of Ulpiana contains remnants of a Roman settlement, all clearly marked and accompanied by information boards. It was a relatively important city, whose territory covered an impressive 120 hectares, one that to-date remains largely under the radar.

These Prussian granaries are part of Bydgoszcz’s heritage and the town’s emblem.They house a museum dedicated to the painter Leon Wyczółkowski, who had a crucial role in two art movements in the early 20th century: the Polish realism and the local modernist wave, called Young Poland. A vast collection of his works is on display inside.

The Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Santa Eulàlia, or simply the Barcelona Cathedral, is the Gothic cathedral and seat of the Archbishop of Barcelona. Its construction began in 1298 on the site of an ancient Roman temple and took more than 150 years to be completed. Located in the centre of the historic Gothic Quarter of Barcelona, the cathedral is dedicated to the martyr Santa Eulàlia – the patron saint of Barcelona – who was tortured to death in late Roman times. Her corpse is buried under the main altar. Be sure to climb to the roof for a nice view of the city, and don't forget to visit the serene and beautiful courtyard, which is occupied by thirteen white geese representing the years of Saint Eulalia's life before she was martyred.
