The Stuttgart State Museum of Natural History is split between two locations in Rosenstein Park: Schloss Rosenstein and the Museum am Löwentor. Schloss Rosenstein focuses on biology and ecosystems, featuring exhibits like a 13-metre-long sei whale model and displays on biodiversity, evolution, and various habitats. The Museum am Löwentor showcases paleontological and geological collections, including fossils from the region. Street performers, tattoo artists, novelty vendors, Gen-X nomads, hippies, people-watchers, and colourful characters of all kinds come together to create this unique bazaar you need to explore at least once. And don't forget the three-mile beach or the streets that are lined with edgy boutiques. No wonder this is one of the most popular visitor attractions in Southern California.

A short boat ride from Santorini, Therasia feels like stepping back a few decades. It’s quiet, with only a few hundred residents, scattered villages, and not much in the way of shops or crowds. Most people visit as a quick stop on a caldera boat tour, but if you’ve got more time, it’s worth staying a bit longer—have a slow lunch, walk around, and take in what Santorini was like before tourism took over.

The Fremont Street Experience is a highly successful attempt to draw the millions of visitors back to the downtown area. The domed-canopy 90 feet (27,5 meters) above the street was constructed along five city blocks, lined with some of the oldest casinos in Las Vegas. Every evening from sundown to midnight, the canopy becomes a giant screen showing high resolution images accompanied by concert-quality sound. At the top of each hour, visitors pour into the streets, looking skyward in anticipation of one of the six different shows lasting six to nine minutes.
