The Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuge is found at the far reaches of southeastern Lake Havasu. Rumored to contain the largest surviving cottonwood-willow woodlands of the lower Colorado River, the Refuge covers 6,000 acres. Perhaps most importantly, the Bill Williams River serves as a comfortable refuge to over 300 species of birds and waterfowl. There are a number of endangered species currently in propagation, including the razorback sucker fish and bony-tail chubs, which are indigenous to the Bill Williams River. Additionally, the Audubon Society named the Refuge an area of global significance in 2011.

The Bridge of Peace was built in 2010 and connects the old town with Rike Park on the other side of the Kura River. This bow-shaped pedestrian bridge is a marvel of modern architecture, a blend of steel and glass that shines with countless lights during the night. The bridge also offers a majestic view over the Metekhi Church and the Narikala Fortress.

Perhaps the city's most iconic landmark, this impressive palace dates back to 1872 and is a must for any visit to Dhaka. Renovations in the 1980s have left all 23 rooms just as they looked at their most luxurious and grandiose, and a walk through the palace is like a trip through time. A standout feature is the enormous elephant skull, a former Nawab's favourite.

The Bangladesh National Museum takes visitors on a tour through the country's natural, social and art history, its geology, flora and fauna, and much more, with its high-quality displays and unique artefacts (a standout feature is the large river racing boat). It is well worth a visit to get an understanding of the country's fascinating history.
