Varberg's square charms many with its picturesque streets and cute little shops. However, what truly sets the square apart is its lively market, a tradition that has endured and takes place every Wednesday and Saturday. There's no better place in Varberg to find seasonal fruits, vegetables, clothing fabrics, handcrafts and more.

Built in the mid-18th century for the Qing emperors as a retreat from the heat of the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace is a vast imperial garden centred on Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, both man-made. The lake was modelled on Hangzhou’s West Lake, with islands, bridges, and long covered walkways. Scattered around are pavilions, temples, and a recreated riverside street designed to look like a traditional market town. Later restored under Empress Dowager Cixi, it became her favoured residence. Today, it’s worth visiting not just for the palaces themselves, but for the long lakeside walks, shaded courtyards, and the sense of space that feels very different from central Beijing.

Aguamarina Cove, about 55 km from Alicante, is a spot known for its peaceful atmosphere and lack of crowds. You can come here mainly to enjoy swimming in the clear, calm waters. The cove has only a few services, but during the summer months a beach bar is open, where you can grab a drink or a light meal. You can also rent kayaks, paddleboards or pedal boats to explore the coast from the water. Keep in mind that reaching the beach requires climbing down a set of stairs, so it may not be suitable for everyone.

Townsville Street Art Trail takes you through 15 works of art hidden in alleys, laneways and on warehouse walls. Head into the city centre for the biggest concentration of murals. The oldest and most well-known piece of guerrilla street art is the ‘Saint’ on Castle Hill — painted in the 1970s in the early hours of Saint Patrick’s Day by local students. It's naive stick figure aesthetic is pure delight.
