The Pyrenees ski resorts are easily accessible from Pau if you want to go on a ski holiday. The Pyrenees are more affordable than the Alps when it comes to passes and hire. Some of the ski areas in the area are: - Saint-Lary Soulan, with 100km of pistes, plenty of off-piste opportunities, and a kids’ park with its own toboggan run; - Les Angles, a huge ski area with loads of pistes; - La Mongie/Barèges, with a total of 69 pistes and 42 lifts.

Located in an old silo at Table Bay, the Zeitz MOCAA is the largest museum of contemporary African art in the world. The unique design of the building is enough to pay for your visit here, but exploring its interior is also highly recommended. More than 100 galleries spread over nine floors showcase well-curated contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. When you feel like taking a break, check out the rooftop, where they have a sculpture garden and a restaurant with stunning views of the harbour.

On the western side of the capital, stretching over seven districts, the Vienna Woods are considered the green lung of Vienna. Easily reached with public transportation and perfect for a daytime excursion, the area offers great hiking trails, old castles and monasteries, a rich fauna and plenty of picturesque vineyard villages. Nestled at the foot of Table Mountain in Cape Town lies one of the world’s greatest Botanical Gardens. It was founded in 1913 to preserve the indigenous flora of South Africa and displays a wide variety of plants, including fynbos, karoo, savanna and a giant baobab tree. They even have plants dating back millions of years, to when there was probably only one continent. Do not miss their regular concerts during the summer.
