Named after its crescent shape, Half Moon Bay is a long stretch of pink and white sand located on the southeastern coast of the island, about 40 minutes from the capital. Its azure waters and a living coral reef just offshore are perfect for swimming and snorkelling. In the middle, towards the south of the beach, the surf becomes a little choppy, which is great for wakeboarding and bodysurfing. Even though the beach is very popular with tourists and locals alike, you won't have a problem finding a quiet spot, even on the busiest days.

Miami Seaquarium delights its visitors with a manifold profile of residents that – from bottlenose dolphins over crocodiles to sea lions – amaze both young and old. While the Salty's Pirate Playground and the stingray touch pool already promise big adventures, a walk underwater at the Sea Trek Reef Encounter will give you an authentic feeling of real sea wildlife.

Serra San Bruno is a village located 70 km from Lamezia, on a little hill. It was named after the founder of the Carthusian Order and, in fact, features a famous monastery; unfortunately, though, the site is out of bounds to tourists because of the Chartusian monks' vow of enclosure, but you can still visit the museum and enjoy the peculiar nature around this area.
