Adjacent to a famous beach with basic amenities, this aptly named diving spot offers a one-of-a-kind glimpse into Dominica's colourful marine life. Underwater exploration is made unique by the incessant bubbling of water thanks to the volcanic hot springs, complemented by a coral reef of golden (well, champagne) colour. Snorkel highlights include octopuses, water lilies, eels, sea horses — and a centuries-old shipwreck.

If you're looking to get a sense of the region's ancient past, the Shaanxi History Museum is where you need to go. The museum is packed with artefacts from thousands of years of history, reflecting the importance of Shaanxi as the heart of several key Chinese dynasties. Among its vast collection, one of the main draws is the display of four original Terracotta Warriors. As you wander through the museum, you’ll come across everything from detailed bronze tools and pottery to fascinating tomb relics, each telling a different part of the region’s story.

Beside the well known beach of Tylösand, there are 21 beaches along the 45 kilometre long coastline. The only school of lifeguards in the Nordic countries is located at Tylösand, where 60 lifeguards are trained annually. Lifeguards patrol the beaches during the summer. Disability adapted bathing places are located in Tylösand and Östra stranden (the Eastern beach). Inland, you find bathing places among many of the lakes.

The 34,000-hectare Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park has beautiful unspoiled beaches, bird-filled lagoons and mountains plunging into the sea. Buses run to villages and the lively Mojácar. You can also rent a cycle or car to explore the area.
