In the middle of Nottingham city centre, you will find this beloved entertainment venue where you will find not only a cinema and casino but also a comedy club and a range of activities such as bowling, arcade machines and mini golf. The Cornerhouse also houses a hair and beauty salon and many bars and restaurants where to grab a bite to eat.

‘This is where the cultural, creative, and enterprising urban district Sphinx will arise.’ So reads the ambition behind the plans for the development of the Sphinx area. Plans focus on the place where Maastricht’s industrial revolution began. It was here that Petrus Regout built his ‘Sphinx Factory,’ the start of what grew into an enormous industry, producing bathroom fixtures, tiles, and the products that made Maastricht great. The factory operated until 2006, and since then efforts have been under way to redevelop this area as a district that fits in with the city, but as something Maastricht does not already have. That’s why this district is being designed to attract creative types, young residents, national and international students, and expatriates. It will be internationally oriented, with room for flexible space and temporary functions. Where this area is going is becoming clearer and clearer, in things like the arrival of the pop music stage in a former sawmill, and the newly opened Brandweer(kantine), with workspaces and meeting places for creative entrepreneurs. But not everything in this part of the city is new and different. The historic and picturesque river harbour ‘t Bassin, adjacent to the Sphinx area, makes a perfect buffer for the transition from the more familiar and better known Maastricht to this new part of town.

Port Zante is the largest cruise port in Saint Kitts and Nevis. The pier area consists of three separate piers designated for cruise ships. The pier area can currently accommodate up to four large cruise ships simultaneously. On busy days, when more than four ships arrive, the ships without a pier either use the cargo port or tender passengers ashore. The Port terminal includes various amenities such as restaurants, shops, cafes and a car park. The port's location could not be better, as it is only a short ten-minute walk to downtown Basseterre or "The Circus" as the locals call it. There is a duty-free shopping area where passengers can buy different goods tax-free. However, in order to benefit from this duty-free rates, local vendors might ask for a proof of non-residence such as a cruise ship card, a foreign driver's license, or a passport.

Two separate medieval quarters at the center of this spread-out city are: La Cité, around the Gothic cathedral, and the Château (or Motte) quarter with its charming streets and lanes around the former marketplace. The Butcher's street in the heart of the Motte quarter is worth a detour.
