This beautiful palm-fringed white sand beach is a 45 minute drive from town on the other side of Isla Colon. It is a prime location for swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing.

Bird Island is named for its glorious abundance of birds and can be accessed easily by boat when the water is calm. Bocas in general is a paradise for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts. Known as the largest single-day street fair nationwide, the bi-annual Carlsbad Village Faire hosts vendors of a myriad of unique wares, cuisine from around the world, a children's area and live entertainment in the beer and wine garden produced by The Rotary Club of Carlsbad. It takes place the first Sunday in May and the first Sunday in November in the Downtown Village of Carlsbad.

The open-air ethnographic museum of Romulus Vuia contains replicas of traditional Romanian architecture from across the country (complete with interior design detail and household items), all of which span centuries. The museum also grants visitors insight into the arts of woodwork, fabric weaving, pottery, and more.
