Montaña de Tindaya is a sacred mountain renowned for its natural, geological, and historic significance. Still known as "The Mountain of Witches", the mountain is associated with the times of myth and magic — there are 213 engravings from prehistoric times dotted around the hillsides. On clear days, hikers may catch a glimpse of Tenerife and Gran Canaria from the summit of the mountain. The hike is suitable for all experience levels. NOTE: This mountain is a protected area for several species of birds, and hikers must seek a permit from ‘Consejería de Medio Ambiente’ before setting foot on the mountain.

A nearly uninterrupted 14-kilometre stretch of sand extends from Geraki to Laganas, forming one of the last major nesting sites for the endangered loggerhead turtle. Despite these conservation efforts, the resort of Laganas itself remains the island's largest and most bustling centre for nightlife, known for its concentration of pubs, bars, and clubs.
