White sand and turquoise water are the key ingredients to Monastir's beaches. The most obvious choice would be to head straight to Karaia (Qaraiya) beach, which is one of the focal points of the city. However, it does get very busy in high season. For those willing to venture a little further afield for some R&R, the beaches of Sousse such as Bou Jaafar and Las Vegas Beach are particularly beautiful. The coast between Monastir and Sousse is a bit more utilitarian but could prove to be an interesting adventure as the locals will often come there to cast a fishing line on the beaches and for all horse lovers, there is riding and racing further inland at the Monastir Hippodrome and the Eki Club. Just beware that there is not a lot of shade on offer along the waterfront, so be sure to pack the SPFs.

Located in the Kadhimiya suburb of Baghdad, the Imam al-Kazim and Imam al-Jawad Shrine is one of the most striking religious sites in the city. This important Shi’a mosque houses the tombs of the seventh and ninth Twelver Imams, making it a major pilgrimage site. Non-Muslim visitors are welcome to enter and explore the mosque; however, it's important to be respectful of religious customs and dress modestly. Due to its religious and historical significance, the shrine is heavily guarded and security is strict. You should expect to pass through three security checkpoints: one upon entering the Kadhimiya area, and two more before reaching the mosque itself. Inside, the shrine’s ornate and reflective design creates a serene and reverent atmosphere, heightened by the devotion of the pilgrims in prayer. Photography is generally permitted, but it is advisable to ask staff before taking photos, especially in more sensitive areas.

Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary is a small Catholic Church in the Station 1 area of Boracay Island. Mass in English is held almost daily, so do not hesitate to visit it for a spiritual moment or join the Sunday mass. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The magnificent park Norrvikens Trädgårdar lies a couple of kilometres west of Båstad. The gardens and buildings were established by Rudolf Abelin in the early 1900s and were recently restored. In the park, there are a restaurant, a café and tours in the park. The park is absolutely perfect for a day trip, where you can enjoy a tasteful lunch in beautiful surroundings.
