Inspired by the architecture of the Cathedral of Seville, the Metropol Parasol claims to be the largest wooden structure in the world. The spot chosen for the construction of this futuristic marvel turned out to contain ancient ruins of the Roman and Al-Andalus era, which were discovered during construction works for underground parking (learn more at the on-site archaeological museum). Seville Cathedral is the third-largest cathedral in Europe. Originally built as a mosque in the 12th-century, the 100-metre- high minaret is now the Giralda clock tower. Christopher Columbus is buried inside the cathedral.

The Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center is a nonprofit organization that rehabilitates sick, injured, orphaned, displaced, and abandoned wild animals with the intent of reintroducing and releasing them back into the wild. The Conservation Center is the largest sanctuary for animals in the Southwestern United States.
