This modern art gallery is located on the edge of a peninsula where the mighty Danube flows. It is one of the youngest museums of modern art in Europe. The River Danube has lent the museum its name and the rest is the result of the enthusiasm and initiative of the Slovak gallery owner Dr. Vincent Polakovič and the financial resources of the Dutch collector and art patron Gerard H. Meulensteen. It is also reachable by bike via a cycling path from Bratislava city centre.

Mohammad Al Amin Mosque is Beirut’s most important and largest mosque, instantly recognisable by its blue dome and four minarets. Built in the Ottoman-Turkish architectural style, it dominates the skyline around Martyrs’ Square and is regarded by locals as a symbol of Lebanese unity. Inside, the mosque is just as impressive. You will be captivated by its chandeliers, intricate Islamic calligraphy, and warm lighting. Tourists are welcome, but it’s essential to respect the dress code and worshippers. Keep in mind that entry is limited to the five daily prayer times.

The War Remnants Museum contains exhibits reflecting the restless effort and deep devotion of people who endured the hardship of war, more specifically the Vietnam War and the First Indochina War. More than 20,000 valuable war documents, artefacts and films are exhibited here, but the biggest draw must be the outdoor exhibition of military equipment: the M48 Patton tank, aircraft, and original attack bombers.
